Stunning 17th Century watermill, situated in the picturesque village of Marple Bridge, on the borders of Cheshire and Derbyshire, on the eastern edge of Greater Manchester.
First mentioned in 1716, Forge Bank Mill was a smithy forge, making shovels and tools for the local mills and farms close to the Hollywood river. It has been beautifully renovated, but retains all its original features – oak beams, an open fire in the guest lounge and wooden floors throughout. It is a warm and welcoming home ideal for leisure and business travellers.
It has been featured in many different magazines, for example, 25 Beautiful Homes, Building and Renovation, Inside Readers Homes and Cheshire Life to name but a few.
This is a wonderful part of the world to explore from the door step or take a 20 minute train trip to Edale, the start of the Pennine Way, amidst the stunningly beautiful countryside, the High Peak, Derbyshire. The Peak Forest Canal is a stroll away as is the “Roman Lakes”. Lyme Park Estate is a just a few miles away (see links).
We are ideally placed for business travellers, with easy access to Manchester City Centre, Manchester International Airport, Sheffield, Leeds and nearby motorway networks and Marple Train Station which put the whole of the North West within easy reach.
A reliable private hire driver is available for journeys to and from the airport and into the city centre.
